One can use Reiki for just about anything.

It is cosmic energy and remember, we live in a world of energy! When one makes Reiki available on oneself, one is working on more than just the physical body.

Reiki works on the energy body around us, called the aura,  Reiki also works on our emotional body, where we store our likes, our dislikes, our ecstasies, our unhappiness, our angers, our fears etc.; and Reiki works on our physical body as well.

Reiki treats us as a whole being, not just a physical body. Forward thinking people (physicians, for example) are recognizing that many of our illnesses have a cause outside the body, i.e. a link is being recognized between our emotional body and our physical body. Reiki, when made available, treats us a whole being - what we truly are.

When one has a backache, and takes medicine for the pain and inflammation, it  treats only the physical body. The cause of that discomfort most likely has its source in our subtle emotional/energy body structures. When Reiki is made available in such a situation, all issues relating to the backache also get handled, in addition to relieving the physical symptoms.

When one looks at and experiences Reiki from a vantage of total openness one would conclude that: The Usui system of Reiki is hi-technology energy medicine.

One does not need to use Reiki only when one is ill or uncomfortable. Reiki contributes to one's well-being, and so may be used at any time.
